Music, Videos, Studying and Downtime..

With 3 weeks left of Winter Quarter to go, I will finally have some downtime soon enough. I have certainly needed it. I've been exhausted since my second year has taken place in the Fall. It has been much harder this year than last. Then again, I say the same thing every quarter - that it's harder than the last. Then when it's all said and done, I end up saying it was easier. Either way, I'm stressed, fatigued, have had many-a-sleepless nights, and am ready for spring break. Trouble is, it's only a 1 week break before Spring Quarter 2011 begins.. but hey, it's a break. I just gotta plow through, study as hard as I can the remaining weeks, and it'll be done before I know it.

Thankfully, the final for my music theory should be fairly easy - and fun. The grading will be based on hard work and creative effort. We'll be taking an mp3, running it through the notation software Sibelius and arranging strings and/or whatever else we so choose (horns, brass, etc etc).

For the ProTools final, I've chosen to do the FMOD capstone project. FMOD is a program which cues themes in videogames, so I'll compose an orchestrated tune on ProTools, run the music on FMOD, and hopefully it will work in some form or another.

For the Audio Production final, it's probably something along the lines of a test, which I've actually been quite well with.

And finally, the Microsoft Office 2007 (online) final will most likely be fulfilling all of the assignments and tests.

Aside from all of that junk, I've been trying to chill as much as I can here and there, as I can't study hard these days due to fatigue. I've had a headache every day of the week for a month, and I'm sleeping no more than 3-4 hours these days. I can't think anymore.. I've needed to just watch some tv and relax.

In other news, I'm going to try and create some songs when I can. I have had writer/musician's block, and thus haven't been able to come up with much, but I expect that to pass on soon. I have also been dabbling in short film making, playing around with Windows Movie Maker, and even made a music video for one of my originals.
